Cash On The Nail Music · "Cash On The Nail Music distributes audio recordings for no charge and for profit. The music has too few sounds. The music has too many sounds at once. It deals with border conditions. It deals with a rough tendency toward an average. It deals with especially large and small values, and fine lines between sweetness, silence, and cacophony. A machine, properly configured, can provide endless, chaotic entertainment. The intention is to offer a collection that will encourage further investigation and reward the same. The collection is offered variously as free downloads and by physical distribution of much the same type to which you are accustomed." — Mark KOLMAR

Mark KOLMAR: Burning Rome · Surface pt1 · COTN001
Composed and recorded by Mark KOLMAR in 1995. Sound source is an upgraded Digitech GSP-2101 digital signal processor, programmed with custom patches that use feedback paths among factory-provided delay, filter, equalizer, pitch shift, mixer, etc. The seeds are the hum from the tube in the analog pre-amplifier section, and the sound of digital glitch synthesized within the digital section. It was recorded direct to DAT in the order presented, with a minimum of post-editing to adjust on-the-fly edits and unwanted glitches. Whether or not this is successful work, it offers an early signpost for later compositions, and for one direction CASH ON THE NAIL Music will indicate.
